Operation Save the World.

Pakistan, Indian Border

After the Temple, we jumped in a shared taxi (shared means 6 people shoved into a space big enough for like 3), and headed to the border for the guard closing ceremony.

US citizens are “VIP” as are all foreigners and even though we didn’t have our passports, they believed us because I think it’d be impossible for me to not look foreign.

The guards basically have a high kick step-off and then they run really silly towards the gates, their hips kinda swing with their bottoms and it’s just really entertaining. I need to know the significance of the high kicks because they were kicking their foreheads - that has to be years of training.

The gates opened between the borders a couple times which was really cool. I just couldn’t believe that we were in India and the people on the opposite side were in Pakistan. We were looking at Pakistan. The men and women were separated on the Pakistani side and I believe on the Indian side as well.

There was also some chanting and cheering (it’s a very patriotic thing) and it sounded like we were at a soccer game because I SWEAR the man was yelling “GOOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLLL.” That’s what I heard at least.
