If you don’t want to travel… don’t.
At Red Fort, first of all - Marlee and I took more pictures with strangers than we did of the actual fort or with each other. We made it maybe 5 feet at a time before someone else wanted a photograph. Flattering and very sweet but also very frsutrating.
We came across a guy who walked up to us and asked if we were from the States. We said yes and he told us he was traveling in India but he was from Southern India and frankly, he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but India. He went to Brown (so it’s even weirder that he hated traveling) and he said he hadn’t spoken to anyone all day (which is EVEN weirder) because almost everyone speaks English today. Apparently he rode the metro but didn’t talk to anyone to do so, which is just bizarre to me.
Marlee finally asked him why he was so pessimistic about India and apparently he’s the type who loves where he’s from but not so much anywhere else. She called him pessy-messy which is perf. I will never understand why anyone travels if they really have no interest. Save your money and save everyone that has to come across you and stay home!
